I have been Information Officer / Coordinator with CALL since 1993, having previously worked in computer training for young learners with support needs. My areas of particular interest include speech recognition and the general use of technology to support learners with reading and writing difficulties. Most of my time is spent in replying to enquiries that generally come by phone, email. or social media. I also look after CALL's databases
I'm currently working on...
In addition to answering enquiries, tweeting on CALL activities and managing databases, I'm working on a new wheel of apps for the Chromebook on supporting people with dyslexia / reading and writing difficulties.
What I do when I'm not working in CALL
I'm a keen supporter of theatre and the arts, generally going mad in August while the festivals are on in Edinburgh.
I am currently Chair of the Trustees of Pass IT On, a charity that refurbishes high quality computer equipment and makes it available to people with disabilities in the Edinburgh area.
