Free Professional Learning on Dyslexia and Inclusive Practice

Posted by Paul Nisbet on the 14th August, 2017

Are you a Support for Learning or Additional Support Needs Teacher or a local authority Inclusion Education Officer? If so, you might be interested in taking part in a FREE pilot Professional Learning Course on Dyslexia and Inclusive Practice that has been developed by Fran Ranaldi of Education Scotland, Dyslexia Scotland and the Addressing Dyslexia Toolkit working group.

The course will take approximately 35 hours to complete, and will involve completion of online learning modules, attendance at 3 master classes in Stirling, and participation in online discussion.

The aim of the pilot is to develop, implement and oversee a cohort of 20 teaching professionals in Scotland with the skills and knowledge to identify and support learners with dyslexia, and offer support and share their professional learning with colleagues to help other teachers to do the same.

Participants who complete the learning programme will be able to apply to GTCS for Professional Recognition.

The number of places is limited to 20 and participants have until midnight on 27th August to apply.
