Invitation to take part in AAC Research

Posted by Allan Wilson on the 6th June, 2017

We were approached recently by Jenna Lyons, an MSc student at the University of Dundee, studying Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). She is currently running a study with colleagues aimed at learning how to design the layout of AAC devices using the exact preferences of the specific user in mind. They have designed a quick and fun task which involves sorting pictures of objects.

Can you help?

Jenna would like to invite people in Scotland who use AAC to take part in this study, playing a game where you organise pictures of objects any way you like. The aim of the study is to find out how YOU want your AAC device organised!

Jenna, or a colleague, will come and visit you at any location across Scotland of your choosing at a time suitable for you throughout June and July. To discuss the project or to secure a time and place please contact the lead researcher Jenna Lyons at: j.y.lyons@dundee.ac.uk.
