As is often the case with projects, there has been a bit of slippage in the development timetable of the Scottish Gàidhlig computer voice.

Three quarters of the recording are complete, the first 'build' has been created by CereProc, and the recording should be finished by the end of September. The beta test version of the voice will be done by 9th October, and the final release by 6th November.

In the meantime, here’s how she sounds so far:

Sample 1

The text she’s reading is:

Feasgar math. Is mise Ceitidh, a' chiad ghuth Gàidhlig coimpiutair san t-saoghal. Bidh an guth ri làimh sgoiltean is oilthighean air feadh na dùthcha.

Sample 2

The text she’s reading is:

Tha e air a bhith na dhuilgheadas mòr do NHS na Gaidhealtachd na leabhraichean cunntais aca a chothromachadh.

Sample 3

The text she’s reading is:

Bha mi air mo chòmhdach
Cho leòmach ri bàn-righinn,
Coilear geal is còta
'S mo bhrògan a' deàrrsadh;
