How to Make Digital Exams and Assessments

Students who benefit from digital exams need digital prelims and internal assessments. Learn how to create interactive accessible digital prelims and assessment materials for students with a range of additional support needs that can be accessed on computer, iPad or other tablet devices.

What’s the course about?

Candidates who use Digital Papers in examinations and assessments require digital prelims and assessments in the same format, and so this hands-on course provides staff with the skills required to create these materials. The course is fully ‘hands-on’ and participants will learn how to make accessible interactive digital examination papers and assessments.

We will learn how to create and edit papers and assessments using Microsoft Word; and convert materials from Word to PDF for students to access on screen or on tablet.

The course also covers creating assessments and prelims with ‘answer boxes’ that function in the same way as SQA Digital Question Papers, using Acrobat Professional on Windows and PDF Office on iPad.

Participants should have reasonable ICT skills, a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and iPads and should be familiar with Digital Question Papers.
