SensusAccess - a New Approach to Support Students and Faculty Who Need Alternate Formats

SensusAccess is an automated document conversion service capable of converting a range of document types into alternate formats such as MP3 files, digital Braille books, audio books and e-books. The service is also used to convert inaccessible or tricky documents into more accessible formats.

The primary users of the SensusAccess service are people with print disabilities, as well as teachers, relatives and other resource persons. The webinar will present SensusAccess, the rationale behind the service, its users and the technologies within. Live demonstrations will illustrate how both accessible and inaccessible documents can be converted by the service. Furthermore, examples of how academic institutions have implemented SensusAccess will be presented.
