Book your school in for an online learning session!

Posted by Shirley Lawson on the 9th February, 2021

When  high-quality, sustained professional learning experiences are undertaken, teachers are more likely to inspire pupils and provide high-quality teaching and learning experiences, enabling learners to achieve their best.  In these challenging times, we must ensure that Professional Learning is focused, relevant and purposeful.  With so many pupils working at home on a variety of devices it’s a good time to look for opportunities to learn about what's possible with technology.

We have delivered some very popular 60 minute online Professional Learning sessions recently to teachers across an authority or, to a group of teachers within one school.  The great thing is that it does not matter whether you are at school or at home, the medium of the web conferencing platform such as Microsoft Teams allows everyone just to log in and access the training.

Craig and I delivered training to an enthusiastic group of teachers from Glasgow on the built in accessibility features on the iPad and how they can be used to support pupils with additional support needs. Feedback was excellent and it is great to know that the teachers armed with this new knowledge can model the assistive features to their pupils and encourage their use.

“Thank you for all the information. This has been very useful and I am grateful that you have recorded it.”

Yes! All participants will get a recording of the session afterwards to refer back to.

“Thank you, looking forward to playing around with these features to help support my pupils.”

And if there are any questions at a later point, just get in touch!

“An excellent hour, thanks so much for the input! Learned so many features to support learners.”

We know from experience that sometimes it’s the most basic assistive features that are the ones people don’t fully know about. That’s ok and that’s what we are here for 😊

“Thanks so much. I have a boy in my class with multiple processing challenges and this will be invaluable for him.”

We are so delighted to hear that!

Have a look at our Training page to see the range of assistive technology training we can provide depending on the needs of your learners.   All our online learning workshops are bespoke with no requirement to buy new devices, software or apps.

Please get in touch (Shirley.lawson@ed.ac.uk) to discuss your training requirements and to get a date in our calendar.  For our latest pricing and details of what we offer have a look at our online workshops.
