Eye Gaze to Support Learning and Communication

The course will focus on the Eye gaze technology options available to support pupils of all ages with ASN with their learning and communication.

Assessment strategies and pre-requisite skills for early eye gaze use and ways of matching the full range of hardware and software to pupils’ needs and abilities will also be discussed.

We will look at supporting access to the curriculum from early level engagement and choice-making, through to functional communication, literacy and computer access.

There wil be hands-on time for developing eye gaze set up skills including positioning, calibration and trouble-shooting.

Staff supporting learners with physical disability who may benefit from eye gaze; including complex communication support needs and learners with learning disability.
