CALL offers two 5 week courses for Autumn 2023!

Category Dyslexia Severe & Complex Support Needs

Do you have dyslexic learners in your class who would benefit from the use of assistive technology? Here is a great opportunity for you to do some Professional Learning on this topic after the summer.

Our course on Technology to Support Dyslexia in Education is a 5 week online course which will focus on and explore a range of technologies, resources, and strategies to support learners with literacy difficulties arising from dyslexia. This is the third year of the course and we will be building on our previous two successful courses.

This self study course is supplemented with 5 online workshops on a Tuesday 4:30 – 5:30pm delivered by the CALL Scotland team. You will have access to a wide range of excellent resources as well as the support of the CALL team who will be there on hand throughout the 5 weeks to have 1 to 1 conversations and discussions. We really want you to get the most out of this course and will do all we can to facilitate this. Ideal for all teachers, Support for Learning teachers, Pupil Support Assistants working with primary and secondary dyslexic pupils.

Also - a new course for learners with complex needs!

Due to the popularity of the 5 week Dyslexia course, we are going to offer the same model of self-study, 5 week online learning course on the topic of Technology to support Reading and Writing for Learners with Complex Needs. This is an exciting addition to our Professional Learning programme and will be a great course for anyone involved with supporting learners with Complex Needs to access the curriculum. The course will be delivered by Claire Harrison who has a wealth of knowledge and experience of using assistive technologies in a complex needs classroom and by Joanna Courtney, CALL's specialist Speech and Language Therapist.
