Glenda's Assistive Technology Information and more...

Posted by Allan Wilson on the 29th April, 2016

We sometimes like to focus on blogs and web resources created by other people, particularly when they may not be familiar to people in Scotland, where we are based, and the rest of the United Kingdom. Today we are going to have a look at "Glenda's Assistive Technology Information and more...", a blog created by Glenda Anderson, from Butte County, California. Glenda combines a background in teaching with research and consultancy work in assistive technology and has put together an invaluable collection of resource pages, each devoted to a particular topic.

The current home page features a blog looking at Communication Books. She provides a very readable and informative introduction to the topic, followed by tips on how to create a communication book, then notes on how to introduce it to a learner. The article includes links to further information as she describes individual topics, with a more formal collection of links to other resources at the end of the article.

There are links from the home page to 'Popular Posts' and by scrolling down, it is possible to find a list of past postings to the site. Glenda's individual blog pages cover a wide range of subjects across Augmentative and Alternative Communication and Assistive Technology, particularly in education. Here are just a few of the topics that she has covered:
