Shirley Lawson has joined the team on secondment from her post of Education Support Officer at East Lothian Council.

Shirley graduated from Moray House with a PGDE in Primary Education in 2007 and had a successful NQT year at East Linton Primary School engaging and motivating her Primary 4 pupils using various aspects of technology.  But it was the positive impact that assistive technology had with two pupils with Additional Support Needs that sparked her interest in this field and she has been involved with the Assistive Technologies for the last six years as part of her central remit in East Lothian.

Her role at CALL will involve assessing young people with severe and complex needs; providing appropriate assistive technology; liaising with key contacts in schools and with external agencies; running training sessions / hosting webinars; undertaking specific areas of research and disseminating information / providing advice and support.

Shirley says….

I am very much looking forward to be working as part of a team of specialists in their field, all working hard to achieve the best possible outcomes for our young clients.
