We have been asked by Lee Gordon, a research student from Dundee University, to distribute information about a survey looking into the relationship between communication impairment, mental health and group identity.

People with a disability needed for participation in an academic survey

You are invited to participate in a survey which will be used as a part of a master’s dissertation at the University of Dundee. The study is interested in the relationship between communication and mental health, and the role that social groups play in this relationship.

Can I take part?

To take part, you need to be 16 years or older and you need to identify as having a disability that impairs your communication (either situationally or persistently). This could be a physical disability, mental health condition, language and communication disorder, or developmental disability.

What would I have to do?

Participation will involve completing an online questionnaire which will take approximately 20-30 minutes. If you would prefer to complete a paper copy, please contact the lead researcher using the details below to arrange this.

If you would like to participate, please visit the survey link https://dundee.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/surveymd to learn more about what is involved and to get started.

Why Should I take part?

While there are no direct benefits for individuals participating in the study, this study could lead to a better understanding about the topic of communication and mental health for people with disabilities. You will also be helping the lead researcher to gather data for their master’s dissertation.

As a thank you for your time, participants will have the opportunity to enter a prize draw for a chance to win a £20 amazon gift card.

Need more information?

You can contact the lead researcher with any questions (e-mail: lzgordon@dundee.ac.uk).

If you know someone who may be interested in participating in this study, it would be greatly appreciated if you would consider sharing this advertisement with them.
