Ceanna MacGregor
AAC Specialist Teacher
My day-to-day activities include:
- Assessment and support of learners with disabilities and/or additional support needs who require specialist communication and/or assistive technology.
- Development and delivery of professional learning.
- Developing and sharing information resources.
- Research and development projects involving communication and assistive technology.
I have always had a passion for language and communication. Originally a French teacher in secondary schools, I moved to an ASN primary school for pupils with complex support needs 10 years ago. I was a principal teacher, with a focus on communication and assistive technology implementation and development. Having seen the positive impact of effective augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies and tools, I strive to empower learners, and the people who support them, by exploring possibilities.
