Assistive Technology and Complex Needs Teacher
After qualifying as a secondary RME teacher over 25 years ago I worked in a variety of mainstream and specialist schools in London, Fife, Angus & Dundee as a teacher and Principal Teacher. I joined CALL Scotland in 2017 as an Assistive Technology & Complex Needs teacher. I was delighted to be the recipient of one of the #ATScholar awards in 2025.
My role is varied and involves assessment and support of individual learners, consultation in specialist provisions within local authorities, development and delivery of professional learning, writing digital content and research and development projects which include:
- Running the CALL Core Word Kit project
- Developing 3D Printing projects, including research around 3D printed communication symbols
- Creating Grid 3 resources for our partnership work with Scottish Book Trust
