Do you have experience of supporting AAC users to access Scottish SQA exams? Or, do you have experience of accessing Scottish SQA exams as an AAC user? If so, we want to hear from you!
I have been attending a working group to discuss and improve access to exams for AAC users. The core AAC Exams Access Group is formed of professionals from across the UK with experience in formal examination access for young people who use AAC.
The discussions and collaboration in the group are essential to understand current circumstances of exams access for AAC users, to share and find solutions and in driving forward progress to improve access and support in exams for those who use AAC.
There is now a website for the growing community supporting AAC users to access exams. You will find guidance, information and can browse discussions or ask a question to the community.
By forming a Scottish branch of the AAC Exams Access Group, we hope to get a better understanding and overview of AAC exams access in Scotland. This will help us work collaboratively and ensure consistency across the UK.
