CALL Scotland's symbol resources to accompany Scottish Book Trust's P1 Family bag 2026 books are now available to download.

The symbol resources are available for anyone to download and use with their children or learners who have communication support needs, English as an Additional Language or early level literacy skills. These include a symbol supported teaching activity to go with each book.
There are printable PDF symbol resources as well as digital talking communication boards for the Free communication app SoundingBoard.
As a new addition this year, the printable communication boards and teaching activity boards also have a QR code with a link to the resources page with a handy help video on how to use them. There are also simple instructions printed on the boards for teachers, parents and carers.

On each communication and teaching activity board, there is also a QR code to a Glint Scottish speaking version of the board, which can be accessed from any device without needing any special app or software.
Try the 'Bear's Lost Glasses' communication board out for yourself!

There are also Clicker writing resources and Grid 3 eye gaze enabled writing resources, specific to each book, available again this year. These can be used with Clicker 8, Clicker Writer app, Grid 3 and Grid for iPad app.
So, plenty of NEW ready-made Bookbug symbolised resources to help you and your learners get ready for the gifting!
