We have received an email from Magdalena Nowak, a Masters student at Dundee University, asking for parents of children with communication difficulties who may, or may not, use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to take part in a survey. We hope that parents will be willing to take part in the survey. All information provided is confidential and will be made anonymous prior to analysis. Here's the email from Magdalena:
My name is Magdalena Nowak and I am an MSc Augmentative and Alternative Communication student at the University of Dundee, Scotland. This study is a part of my Master's Thesis and this project is supervised by Dr Ashley Robertson (Psychology, School of Social Sciences).
I am investigating the experiences and attitudes of parents of children with significant communication problems who may or may not use an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) device. I hope to further understand these experiences and investigate the potential impact of using an AAC device on family life.
The study will be conducted online at the following address: www.aacstudy2016.uk.
I would be grateful if you could circulate the link amongst the parents and possibly post information about the study on your website/Facebook page.
For further information about this study, please contact either myself (m.m.nowak@dundee.ac.uk) or my supervisor (a.z.robertson@dundee.ac.uk; 01382 385020). We would be very happy to answer any questions you may have.
Thank you for your time.
