New! Bookbug Picture Book Prize 2021 Symbol resources and Digital Books

CALL Scotland’s award-winning symbol resources and accessible versions of Scottish Book Trust’s P1 Family bag books are now available to download.

The 3 books are the nominees for the Bookbug Picture Book Prize 2021 will be gifted to every P1 child in Scotland in time for Book Week Scotland, which runs from the 16th to 22nd November.

The symbol resources are available for anyone to download and use with their children or learners who have communication support needs, English as an Additional Language or early level literacy skills.

There are printable PDF symbol resources as well as digital talking communication boards for the Free communication app SoundingBoard.

There are also New Clicker writing resources and New Grid 3 eye gaze enabled writing resources, specific to each book, available this year.

The accessible books are available for Professionals in Scotland (teachers, SLTs, health professionals) to use with learners who have a Print Disability.

You just need to create a Free Books for All account. The books come in PowerPoint for PC, Keynote for iPad and Grid 3 for Grids 3 software on PC and Grid for iPad.

A Professional can share the book with the Parent of a learner to use at home by sending them a direct download link to the book.  You are given the option to do this when you download the book from the Database. 

The download will then appear on the Professional’s account.
