New-Bookbug Picture Book Prize 2023 Accessible Books and Symbol Resources

CALL Scotland’s award-winning symbol resources to accompany Scottish Book Trust’s P1 Family bag books are now available to download.

The 3 books are the nominees for the Bookbug Picture Book Prize 2023 and will be gifted to every P1 child in Scotland in time for Book Week Scotland, which runs from the 14th to 20th of November, 2022. 

The symbol resources are available for anyone to download and use with their children or learners who have communication support needs, English as an Additional Language or early level literacy skills. These include a symbol supported Teaching Activity to go with each book. 

There are printable PDF symbol resources as well as pre-recorded digital talking communication boards for the Free communication app SoundingBoard.

There are also Clicker writing resources and Grid 3 eye gaze enabled writing resources, specific to each book, available again this year. These can be used with Clicker 8, Clicker Writer app, Grid 3 and Grid for iPad app.
