Posted by Kirsteen Steven on the 16th October, 2025

If you're a parent or carer of a child with Additional Support Needs, you might be wondering: Where can I find support to help my child thrive? Whether it's understanding what assistive technology is, knowing what’s available, or figuring out what might work best for your child, it can feel like a lot to take in.

That’s where we come in. This webinar series is designed to guide you - step by step - towards helpful places, practical resources, and trusted tools that can make a real difference in your child’s learning journey.

At CALL Scotland, we know that assistive and communication technology can be a game-changer. But we also know that it can feel overwhelming - especially if you're not sure where to start. That’s why we’ve created a short, friendly webinar series just for parents and carers.

What’s the series about?

Why join?

Because you don’t need to be a technology expert to support your child. You just need a bit of guidance, a few ideas, and a space to ask questions. That’s exactly what this series offers.

When and where?

The series will initially run online in the evening (7pm) via Teams, with 3  short, informal  sessions you can join from home.

You’ll get:

Find out more about each individual session  and sign up to join us.  Although we hope you’ll be able to join us live and benefit from the opportunity to ask any questions you may have, we understand that life and commitments can often get in the way.  For that reason we will be recording the sessions so you can always catch up later at a time that suits you better if you need to.

If you have any questions about these sessions please reach out directly to Kirsteen.steven@ed.ac.uk
