We thought it would be helpful to give some notice about other roles to which we hope to recruit soon. If you have ever thought about working with the CALL team, take a look below and keep a look out for updates about the roles.

CALL Scotland Head / Leader / Director

I will be leaving CALL Scotland at the end of July after 42 years (I started in August 1983) and so we will be looking for a new person to take over a leadership remit, which includes:

We are looking for someone who has:

If you are interested in this role, the CALL Annual Reports provide a good overview of what we do. Or email me at Paul.Nisbet@ed.ac.uk and we can have a chat.

(I hope to be involved on an honorary / voluntary basis for a while or until the team finally get fed up of me saying "I've just had an idea. How about .....")

Learning Technologist / Digital Learning Specialist

Robert Stewart is our modestly titled Technology Resources Officer but his work is absolutely crucial for all aspects of our operation. Robert designs, codes and maintains all our web sites; manages our staff, loan and training iPads, laptops, Chromebooks and AAC devices and apps; maintains our databases for tracking activities, equipment loans, training and pupils; creates the online systems for booking, invoicing and hosting our online webinars, professional learning and the ASL and Technology conference. This is quite a lot and so we intend to find him an apprentice to spread the workload and to allow us to further develop our digital services.

We will be looking for someone who:

Marketing / Social Media / Administrative Assistant

Claire, Kirsteen and Ceanna currently look after our social media and this requires a lot of time and effort. We would like to recruit someone who will have this remit and a broader role around marketing and communications in general. We are still developing the job description but we are hoping to find someone who has a good eye for digital design and media. The role is likely also to involve getting stuck in with some of the day to day administration of the busy CALL office.

Assistive Technology Consultant

With Craig and I leaving, we envisage there will be a role for a new member of the team to contribute to:

Again, we are still developing this job description and we think that it could suit an Occupational or Speech and language Therapist, or a teacher who has experience and skills working with learners with complex additional support needs arising from physical, cognitive or learning challenges.
