Top Tools for developing the communication skills of learners who use AAC

Do you have learners who use AAC and who you would like to help become better communicators?

In this online workshop, Joanna Courtney, CALL Scotland's Specialist Speech and Language Therapist will explore a variety of useful implementation tools which can help practitioners develop the communication skills of their learners who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). These will include: Tobii Dynavox Core First Learning; Pathways for Core First; Assistiveware Core Word Classroom and Smartbox Supercore Learning.

Joanna will demonstrate these tools and some of their key resources, as well as signposting to additional practical and ready-made resources that you can easily access to help you create communication opportunities in the classroom and at home.

Meet your presenter(s)

Joanna Courtney
Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

She has 18 years' experience of working in the field of Augmentative and Alternative Communication, spending her first 7 years working in a Special School. She has an Honours degree (BSc) in Speech and Language Pathology from Queen Margaret University and her particular area of interest is enabling peer interaction and group opportunities for people who use AAC.
