Unlocking Potential: iPad Mastery for Empowering Autistic Learners

Do you use iPads in your classroom to promote independence and learning?

This bite-sized 30 minute learning session will open the door to a world of endless possibilities, where the transformative power of the iPad meets the unique needs of autistic learners.

In this session you will embark on a journey of discovery, learning how to harness the full potential of the iPad to create personalised, interactive, and engaging experiences for your learners. Kirsteen will guide you through a rich curriculum, sharing ways to using free apps, assistive tools, and creative strategies to promote communication, sensory regulation, social skills, and academic growth.

We aim to show how available technology can be used to unlock the hidden talents and abilities of your autistic learners, fostering their independence, self-confidence and overall success. Join us on this bitesize journey of empowerment and transformation!

What you'll get

A recording of the session as well as a CLPL certificate which can be directly uploaded to myGTCS Professional Update and the HCPC CPD Audit.

Capacity

Maximum of 30 participants so everyone can have an interactive collegiate learning experience.

Equipment

You'll need a windows, Mac or tablet device with an internet connection and speakers. Microphone is optional.

Payment

The course can be paid for by invoice or debit/credit card. More information further down.

Assistive Technology and Additional Support Needs Teacher

My day-to-day role includes the assessment and support of individual learners, development, promotion and delivery of professional learning, and creating website content. In my role of leading the Professional Learning Programme at CALL Scotland I will focus on ensuring that we continue to provide relevant and quality training on assistive technologies to colleagues working with children and young people with additional support needs and/or disabilities.

Payment

We will be on the PECOS system as: The University of Edinburgh and NOT CALL Scotland (this is because we use the University's finance systems).
