Course held on the 3rd November, 2022 • £40 per individual
90 minute Online Learning workshop
Pupils with physical support needs benefit from using Assistive Technology in many ways. For some of us, technology makes life easier or more convenient, but for people with physical challenges, technology may offer the only way to independently access learning, information, employment, to communicate, to control the physical environment, and to be independently mobile.
In this course, Paul and Claire will discuss and demo access technologies which will include the use of switches, Eye Gaze, keyboard access mice and pointing devices as well as the features which are available in mainstream electronic devices such as the iPad or on Windows laptops.
You will learn about the SETT assessment framework which can be used to help decide on the best technologies for a particular pupil. What are the most important considerations? What learning needs to take place to make sure everyone is on board with making the implementation of the technology successful for the pupil?
There will be the opportunity to see the technologies being used by pupils with physical challenges in school settings to access the curriculum.
Sorry, this course was held on the
3rd November, 2022.
