Presenter(s): Joanna Grace, Sensory Engagement and Inclusion specialist
Joanna Grace is a Sensory Engagement and Inclusion specialist and is the founder of The Sensory Projects. The Sensory Project runs on the idea that with the right knowledge and a little creativity, inexpensive items can become effective tools for inclusion.
Sensory stories are an amazing resource for engaging students with complex disabilities. The benefits of sharing sensory stories are multiple, and increase with time. But it can be difficult to know how much time. When should you start telling a new sensory story? How long is too long to repeat a story for?
In this workshop Joanna will share a simple method for recording and evaluating sensory sharing that is meaningful, impactful and takes seconds to complete.
