PocketPhonic stories app

PocketPhonics Stories is an iPad app that teaches phonics and handwriting. It was designed with the help of British SEN teachers and reading specialists, and has been used in hundreds of UK primary schools over the last decade.

In this webinar, John will demonstrate the principles of the app and show how learners progress to the next level of simple story books based on the mastery of letter sounds and writing letters. Once the learner has mastered those books, it will teach them the next set of letter sounds they need to know.

The stories are written specifically for children learning to read using synthetic phonics, plus there are quizzes that check they can read the words and understand them. The books get progressively harder as the child learns new letter sounds through the app and if they need help, they can tap on the word to get help sounding it out.
