In this webinar Hayden will explore an innovative application of Minecraft as a tool for enhancing language therapy. You will learn about the benefits of using games in educational contexts like speech and language therapy, leading to increased engagement and motivation amongst students. The session will cover the essential Assistive Technology features of Minecraft Education, such as text-to-speech, text highlighting, visual dictionary, etc. which facilitate both interactive and inclusive learning.
Hayden will share guidance on the effective use of Minecraft in therapy and will explore various language activities tailored to specific speech and language goals. These activities address areas such as expressive and receptive language, pragmatics, articulation, and executive functioning. The presentation will also highlight the integration of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) modelling within Minecraft, offering practical strategies for incorporating this technology into lesson plans.
