Presenter(s): Linsey Miller, specialist ASN teacher
Supporting communication in the classroom is vital for creating inclusive, learner-centred environments, but what happens when a young person receives an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device for the first time? Or perhaps you are welcoming a young person with an AAC device into your classroom?
In this practical and supportive webinar, specialist ASN teacher Linsey Miller will introduce primary practitioners to the world of AAC, with a focus on using iPad applications to support learners who require digital AAC. The webinar will begin by exploring digital and non-digital AAC systems, discuss how to get started when a learner first begins using their device, and share practical ideas and best practices for promoting communication, participation, and success in the classroom and beyond.
Whether you are completely new to AAC or looking to refresh your understanding, this session will offer real-world strategies, reassurance, and resources to help you confidently support learners in your setting. This practical webinar will aim to give you strategies that you can quickly implement in your own setting.
Once a month we'll send you an email with news, research and thoughts, as well as training courses and free webinars you may wish to attend.
