Creating learning resources with symbols - what are the options?

In this extended webinar, Claire Harrison, Assistive Technology and Complex Needs teacher at CALL Scotland will provide an overview of software, websites, and apps useful for creating symbol-supported learning resources for children and young people with complex learning needs.

Whether you want to create your own bespoke activities or use high-quality, ready-made resources that can be used immediately or edited to suit your learners, you will be encouraged to consider which tools are the most appropriate for your setting. Claire will demonstrate various options, look at the different symbol sets, and show practical examples of high- and low-tech printed and interactive resources that can be created and used to support communication and access to the curriculum. During the webinar you will also have the opportunity to think about key questions and considerations for a school or local authority wanting to purchase symbol software.
