Presenter(s): Kirstin Barr, CALL Scotland
The webinar will outline why accessibility matters in formative assessment, highlighting how barriers can impact learners’ ability to demonstrate their understanding. It will explore why accessibility is important not only for equity, but also for improving the validity of what is being assessed.
You will then see clear examples of how assistive technology can be used to reduce these barriers, supporting reading, writing, planning and responding. The session will highlight common challenges learners face and demonstrate how accessible tools and digital formats can reduce barriers, strengthen feedback, improve learner confidence and support more accurate assessment of progress.
The focus will be on small, manageable changes that can have a significant impact on learner engagement and attainment.
This session is suitable for teachers across all sectors who are looking to develop more inclusive formative assessment approaches and make better use of the digital tools already available in their classrooms.
