Over 20 people have signed up for our new Technology to Support Dyslexia in Education Masterclass course that started last month, and the feedback is extremely positive.
The course is designed for teachers, support staff, parents, and professionals who support learners with literacy difficulties arising from dyslexia to make the most of technology to help overcome barriers to learning.
Some of the comments and feedback include:
Technology to Support Dyslexia in Education offers step-by-step guides on making the most of technology, whether it's freely available apps, built-in features, or specialist support tools – many of which can be found in schools across Scotland and further afield.
This self-study course (no tutors) includes video tutorials, downloadable PDF resources including technology checklists, posters, and infographics, relevant journal articles, as well as interactive labelled guides for software programs to familiarise yourself with; no need to have the software installed as the interactive guides will highlight the main tools and features.
In addition, there are 'end-of-section quizzes' for you to try as-well-as an 'end-of-course activity' so you can put your new knowledge and skills into practice.
The course renders beautifully on all devices (laptops, iPads, iPhones, Androids, etc.), so you can work your way through the course at your leisure.
There are 7 sections in total, and within each section, there are detailed sections covering, early years, primary, and secondary.
To find out more, visit the Learning section of the CALL website. There's also a short video introduction below to whet your appetite.
Once a month we'll send you an email with news, research and thoughts, as well as training courses and free webinars you may wish to attend.
