Technology to Support Qualifications Scotland Digital Assessment Arrangements

This four week course is for teachers, Qualifications Scotland coordinators, technical and digital learning leads and senior management who wish to understand how to implement digital assessment arrangements in Qualifications Scotland examinations.

This is a four week course with weekly 1-hour online workshops, delivered by the CALL Scotland team with input from other practitioners.

About the course

This four week course is for teachers, Qualifications Scotland coordinators, technical and digital learning leads and senior management who wish to understand how to implement digital assessment arrangements in Qualifications Scotland examinations.

The online workshops are on Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:00 pm and are delivered by the CALL Scotland team with input from other practitioners.

Course structure and weekly workshops

  • Week 1: Introduction to Qualifications Scotland assessment arrangements and the role of assistive technologies as part of these arrangements. Introduction to some of the tools available.
  • Week 2: The use of digital assessment arrangements to meet pupils’ additional support needs. Subject specific advice.
  • Week 3: Creating accessible digital prelims and assessments. Planning for digital assessment arrangements.
  • Week 4: Implementing digital assessment arrangements. The future of online digital assessment.

  • Starts 1st October, 2026.
  • 4-week course (Thu 1 Oct - 22 Oct 2026).
  • 4:00pm - 5:00pm (UK time zone).
  • £180 per individual.

CALL Scotland team member Kirstin Barr will be your course tutor, with input from other practitioners.

How to connect

Our live sessions are delivered using Microsoft Teams and we provide full joining instructions. There are a maximum of 50 participants so everyone can have an interactive collegiate learning experience.
