If you haven’t seen the website ‘How to create a dyslexia-friendly classroom’ I highly recommend having a look. As well as a checklist and some examples of how to enhance inclusive learning for dyslexic pupils, the resource highlights the barriers that a child with dyslexia may face during their time at school.

Inspired by the dyslexia friendly classroom approach, we thought a ‘technology guide to creating a dyslexia-friendly classroom’ poster would be a useful resource to share.

The poster/guide/checklist recommends 8 technology tips you can easily and quickly implement, that are either built-in to the operating system or are free to download, for example;

Of course there is so much more to cover and it is difficult to include everything on a poster. So if you really want to find out more on how best to support pupils with literacy difficulties using technology, the ‘Technology to Support Dyslexia’ free online module is great starting place.

Using a combination of illustrations, videos, quizzes and colourful and engaging content, the course is a great place to enhance your knowledge. You’ll also receive a certificate on completion of the course.
