Technology to Support SQA Digital Assessment Arrangements

This four week course is for teachers, SQA coordinators, technical and digital learning leads and senior management who wish to understand how to implement digital assessment arrangements in SQA examinations.

This is a four week course with weekly 1-hour online workshops, supplemented with practical and engaging resources.

About the course

This is a four week course with weekly 1-hour online workshops, supplemented with practical and engaging resources.

The online workshops are on Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:00 pm and are delivered by the CALL Scotland team with input from colleagues from SQA.

Course structure and weekly workshops

  • Week 1: Introduction to SQA assessment arrangements and digital assessment arrangements in particular.
  • Week 2: Identifying and meeting pupils' additional support and subject-specific needs. The role of assistive technology such as text-to-speech; speech-to-text; spellcheck; drawing tools.
  • Week 3: Planning and implementing digital assessment arrangements.
  • Week 4: Creating accessible digital prelims and assessments. The future of online digital assessment.

  • 4:00pm - 5:00pm (UK time zone).
  • £180 per individual.

Course tutors

CALL Scotland team members Paul Nisbet and Craig Mill are your course tutors, with input from colleagues from SQA and schools. All of them have many years of experience working with digital assessment arrangements.

How to connect

Our live sessions are delivered using Microsoft Teams and we provide full joining instructions. There are a maximum of 25 participants so everyone can have an interactive collegiate learning experience.
